How did we get started? My love for baking started in my childhood. I always had many people asking for my baked goods. Some even suggested that I should start a bakery, but I knew that wasn’t where I wanted to take my baking skills. Later in my early adulthood, I was inspired by another military mother into making unique cakes for my children. From the basic form character pans, to winging it for a monster truck 3D cake, to more trendy-style round and sheet cakes, I evolved my frosting decorating abilities. Later, I even jumped into the royal iced cookies which included stencils, and airbrushing techniques.
But when my son brought home a full-blooded Bloodhound puppy a year ago - my love for baking moved to homemade dog treats. He quickly became my kitchen buddy and was always at my heels in the kitchen waiting for samples. He is the best treat taster around! One pup became two, and I decided I had to up my game on the dog treats. I wanted to spoil my grandpups like we do for our children. So, I started to use my cake and cookie decorating skills for the homemade dog treats. After a lot of research and perfecting skills with the new pet safe products, I started toying around the idea of a pet bakery. I handed out my treats to others to see if there was any interest. Next thing I know, I had requests for the dog treats - and the Posh Pup Bakery was born.
